Meet the RMK Team

Tony Rossi Sr.
Chairman of the Board

Anthony R. Rossi received a B.S from Loyola University in 1963 and a law degree from DePaul University in 1969. Between 1963 and 1973, he worked for Arthur Andersen in Chicago where he served in the tax group specializing in real estate. In 1973, Mr. Rossi left Arthur Andersen to join Moran & Company. Moran & Company has several affiliated companies, RMK Management and M&R Development. Mr. Rossi is the Chairman of the Board of RMK. RMK manages about 8,000 luxury rental apartments predominately in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Rossi is also the Managing Partner of M&R Development LLC. M&R and its predecessor company have developed approximately 4,000 rental apartments in Chicago and its suburbs. Anthony R. Rossi received his C.P.A. from the State of Illinois in 1963 and passed the Illinois Bar in 1969. He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and the American and Illinois Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a licensed broker in Illinois, Colorado, Minnesota, and Florida. He has also served as President of the Chicagoland Apartment Association.

Tony Rossi Jr.
President

Anthony R. Rossi, Jr. was named the President of RMK Management Corporation in 2015. Beginning in 1991 and continuing through 1998, he was employed on the brokerage side by Moran and Company. In 1998, his focus shifted to RMK Management and M&R Development. Since then he has overseen the rehab over of 5,000 units, the demolition and construction of four new clubhouses and the construction of 3,755 luxury apartment homes. Recently completed projects include Parc Huron, Central Station and 73 East Lake. New projects include The Residences at Wilmette, The Residences at Hamilton Lakes in Itasca and Addison & Clark in Chicago. Additionally, he is President of RMK Restoration which rehabs apartment communities both for internally owned deals and outside firms. Mr. Rossi, received a B.S. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is a Licensed Broker in both Illinois and Minnesota. Mr. Rossi is also an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) and is the Managing Broker for RMK Management Corporation.

Thomas P. Kearney
Senior Vice President

Thomas P. Kearney received a B.S. in Accounting in 1967 and a Masters of Accounting Science in 1969 from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He received a Masters of Taxation in 1974 from DePaul University in Chicago. Mr. Kearney received his C.P.A. from the State of Illinois in 1969 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Kearney is the Senior Vice President and Treasurer of RMK Management Corporation.

Kathy Hurst
Chief Financial Officer

Kathy Hurst is the Chief Financial Officer of M&R Development, RMK Management and Moran & Company and has over 25 years of accounting experience in real estate development and property management. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Ms. Hurst worked at Baird & Warner and American Invsco. Kathy received her B.B.A. in Accounting from Pace University and her C.P.A. from the State of Michigan in 1991. Kathy is responsible for overseeing the Accounting and Finance, Information Technology and Human Resource departments for the 3 firms.

Diana Pittro
Executive Vice President

Diana Pittro has been in the industry for over 20 years. She began her career in a regional sales and marketing position with Robert Sheridan & Partners doing rehab and condominium conversions on the East Coast. Next, Diana spent nine years with Draper & Kramer, Inc., as a Vice President for a multi-state and multi-site region of 3,000-5,000 units dealing in third party management and was in charge of renovated and new construction properties. She then moved on to a Vice President position at The Habitat Company, where for over five years she supervised high-rise buildings in the Chicago area, including Presidential Towers, which is a 2,400-unit luxury high-rise apartment community which includes commercial, retail, and office space of over 400,000 square feet. Diana received her B.A. from Cal State and has received her designation for Accredited Resident Manager. She also has her Illinois Real Estate Brokers License. Diana has served on the Executive Committee and as a Board Member for the Chicagoland Apartment Association. She was also President for five years. Diana is currently the Region III Vice President and on the Board of Directors for the National Apartment Association. She is currently serving a two year term as President of the National Apartment Association Education Institute. Diana is also an advisory board member for Rasmussen Colleges. Diana was honored by receiving the Property Supervisor of the Year award from the Illinois/Chicago Apartment Association. She was awarded the Chicagoland Apartment Association Supervisor of the Year award in 2001. Diana currently oversees all management, marketing and operations as well as capital programs for the RMK Management Corporation portfolio, which includes 6,500+ units, in the Midwest for both third party investors and self-owned and managed properties. She is responsible for day-to-day operations of RMK and has been actively engaged in all due diligence projects for the company and its owners. Diana has been with RMK Management Corporation since 2002.

Gary Lundemo
Vice President

Gary Lundemo is currently a Vice President for RMK Management Corporation. Prior to joining RMK, he was Vice President of Property Management for The Habitat Company where he oversaw a portfolio of market rate properties totaling over 3,876 units. Gary worked closely with third-party owners to ensure the operating and financial goals for the asset are achieved. With more than 28 years of experience as a Certified Property Manager in Atlanta, Charlotte and Chicago, Gary managed a variety of large multifamily and mixed-use high-rise developments, including rehabilitations and new construction. Prior to joining The Habitat Company in 1992, Gary worked for Current Development Corporation as project coordinator for a 730 unit rehabilitation rental community in Crest Hill, Illinois. Gary is a recent past president of the Chicagoland Apartment Association and he continues to serve on its executive committee. He holds the CPM© designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a licensed broker. He has also won numerous awards from the Chicagoland Apartment Association, including Building Manager of the Year.

Deanna Johnson
Regional Manager

Deanna Johnson is currently a Regional Manager for RMK Management Corporation. Deanna joined RMK in 1993 as a Leasing Consultant for RMK’s largest community, Versailles on the Lakes. She currently oversees a portfolio of seven communities throughout the western and northern suburbs and has recently opened two new construction sites that are currently in lease up. Deanna currently holds an Illinois Managing Broker’s License and holds an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. Deanna received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University.

Lex McCarthy
Regional Manager

Lex McCarthy is currently a Regional Manager for RMK Management Corporation. Lex joined RMK in 2010. She currently oversees seven communities, both in the City of Chicago and the suburbs, and has recently opened two new construction sites that are currently in lease up. Additionally, she will supervise the lease up of an additional phase of an existing project that will add 146 new units to the development. Lex’s career in the apartment industry spans a period of over 30 years and throughout her career has been responsible for overseeing the financial operations and renovations of multiple communities ranging from market, affordable, tax credit, and commercial properties. Lex currently holds an Illinois Broker License and is a Certified Occupancy Specialist. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Building Owners and Managers Association (ABOMA) and is a previous Board Member with the Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA).

Ken Sloma
Regional Manager

Ken Sloma is currently a Regional Manager for RMK Management Corporation. Ken joined RMK in 2018 and brings over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining RMK he was an Assistant Vice President for Draper and Kramer for six years. Ken currently holds an Illinois Broker license and is a member of the Chicagoland Apartment Association.

Linda Rossi
Regional Marketing Manager

Linda Rossi, currently serves as Regional Marketing Manager for RMK Management Corporation where she is responsible for growing the RMK Management brand and promoting its communities through digital marketing, social media, reputation management and other marketing channels. She has been associated with RMK Management Corporation since 1989. Her multi-family career began in leasing and progressed to different positions in management and training. As Regional Manager her portfolio included communities ranging from residential market-rate, new construction, rehab, garden, midrise and high-end luxury apartment residences. She has worked for both RMK managed communities and third-party investors to help them achieve their investment financial goals. While serving as the Training Director she used her strengths in leadership, customer service and team building to coordinate training initiatives from employee onboarding to ongoing education. Ms. Rossi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Bradley University. She holds the CPM© designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a licensed Managing Broker in the State of Illinois.

Gerry Tanzer
Regional Maintenance Director

Gerry Tanzer is currently the Regional Maintenance Director for RMK Management. Gerry started with RMK in 1984 as the Maintenance Supervisor of Versailles on the Lakes, a 688-unit property in Oakbrook Terrace, a position he held until 2003 when he was promoted to his current position. Gerry oversees and administers capital improvements and major repairs, including scope of work, contracts, project implementation and completion. Gerry acts as the project manager overseeing several renovation projects including the development of a program for cost of unit and property rehabilitations. Gerry has implemented several green initiatives including shower head replacement, aerators, LED bulbs, programmable thermostats, and attic insulation. Gerry also conducts due diligence inspections for newly acquired properties. Gerry’s ongoing education includes, the Chicagoland Apartment Association Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) designation, Certified Pool Operator, Environmental Protection Agency certified, and certified in lead remediation.
